Someone finally had the chutzpah to say it.
An enterprising elementary school teacher turn blogger named Sarah Wu has been revealed as the mysterious "Ms. Q" who wrote about her experiences eating daily lunches available at American school cafeterias.
Developing a large following, the results, as we sadly have come to accept as reality, were not good.
"This is not about the lunch ladies who are doing the best job they can. This is about a nationwide nutrition crisis," she says. "These are American kids. They need the best food we can give them."
On the verge of releasing a book that further chronicles her year-long odyssey where she found reason to call into question school boards, food service companies, and educational nutrition administrators - in essence, the entire system - Sarah Wu is hopeful that her shedding light on the problem is such a public manner will give wings to the changes that need to come into play against a backdrop where epidemic rates of obesity and malnutrition have become the norm.
